this was a project completed by sagmeister at the pratt institute, i like the idea of the symbols making up an idea and meaning something also having a small quotation below it to describe it, this is one idea that i thought that i could use this to show situation of a drink driver and also to show simple descriptions for drivers on the billboards!

Kony 2012 Campaign
This was a campaign that was spread using the internet, they broadcasted a 30 minute video that became the most viewed and was spread everywhere in a bid to 'make kony famous'. a criminal that was deemed not known enough to be captured, this campaign was designed to make him known. I feel this is the approach that should be taken on the Drink Driving campaign, since you would like the campaign to be known, because of how the campaign was designed and broadcast it attracted attention of a massive following and had numerous celebrities taking it among themselves to help broadcast the campaign.

this advert shows a fan encouraging a fan from the opposite team to have a cigarette, it comes across as a friendly gesture but shows that he's trying to kill him.
this is a powerful add and doesn't specifically say don't smoke, it gives it more of a intense message.

Deciding On My Subject
I am passionate about doing a Advertising Campaign, I have been looking for a particular subject to do a campaign on.
Since I would like to consider advertising as a career path i thought this was a perfect situation to touch in to and see how i feel about the project, after personal research i have found that i enjoy designing for purpose and appealing design to selling something; i researched David Ogilvy and he quoted "i do not regard advertising as entertainment or a art form, but as a medium of information" its a way to get messages across to people and all though i do enjoy the design and art of design i like to design for selling and getting a message across.
One of the recommendations i got from my tutor was to do mt ad campaign on a charity that i have a passion about, i wasn't immediately attached to any particular charity so i decided to think about doing my project on sickle cell for charity, but because its not something that you could help because its a heredity its a subject that will be hard to advertise so after a group discussion i could keep to sickle cell an change the ad campaign to a information pack because it would be more to inform people of the condition.
I ended up changing my concept to 'Drink & Drive' campaign because this can be advertised and would be a better way to do a strong campaign and get a message across which could stop people from doing it.
The finalised decision i came to was the 'Drink & Drive' campaign, after research i feel quite passionate about this and i think i could do a strong campaign with this.
